MWI does not solicit funds by mail, nor do we make appeals. However, we are happy to accept donations in the following forms:
CARE CARDS - If you wish to send a greeting card to anyone, for any occasion, be it happy or sad, attractive cards are always available. For $5.00, Marilyn Simon or Phyllis Paley will hand write your message, sign your name and then address and mail the cards. It's easier and more personal than a store card and doesn't cost much more. Also, your name will appear in the next bulletin, along with the message you wish to convey.
DONATIONS - If you would like to make a donation to MWI, in honor or memory of someone, in any amount (we suggest a minimum of $18.00) call Donations Chair Elaine Bassin and she will arrange to have a letter sent to the recipient stating that you have made a donation to MWI in his or her name (the amount of the donation will not appear). You will also receive a letter of acknowledgment stating the amount of the donation, which you can save for tax purposes.
The following are also available:
CERTIFICATES OF APPRECIATION - These are only awarded to those people, usually authors or speakers, who have addressed us at a luncheon or study group without receiving payment. They are free of charge, but must be approved prior to being presented. They can be requested by study group leaders or event chairs, and will be appropriately inscribed. Elaine Bassin is also in charge of certificates.
NOTES - These are sent by Good and Welfare Chairs Mickie Goldstein and Sandra Kaufman on behalf of MWI. If you know of someone who is celebrating an occasion, welcoming a grandchild, undergoing an illness, etc., please let Mickie or Sandra know and a handwritten note will be sent. If you are leaving a message, leave your name and phone number, the name and address of the honoree, and what the occasion is. Again, these are from the organization and not from an individual. Therefore, there is no charge for our sending a note and listing the names of the recipients in the bulletin.
