GOULD MEMORIAL LIBRARY This architectural masterpiece designed by the legendary Stanford White is modeled after the Pantheon of Rome, complete with a dome topped by a window with a view of the sky. It houses exhibits of Architecture, History and Back Lot movie sets. The Library, the centerpiece of White's vision, is surrounded by an arcaded terrace containing the HALL OF FAME FOR GREAT AMERICANS The original "Hall of Fame" in this country, it is a New York landmark institution founded in 1900 to honor prominent Americans who have had a significant impact on this nation's history. Built in a sweeping semi-circular Neo-Classical arc with wings at either end,it provides a panorama across the Harlem River to the Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park and beyond to the Palisades.
