ZUCKER SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

Dear MWI members,

We are so proud of MWI's contribution to the Donald and Barbara Zucker Northwell School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

The class of 2029 medical students represents 16 states and 46 colleges around the country. The US News and World Report 2025 Best Medical Schools rankings places the medical school in the top tier for research consisting of 16 schools, nationwide, and one of just two schools in New York State.

A Saturday competition was recently held, called the "Brain Bee." Two medical students handled brain tisssue from organ donors, and explained the human brain. It was open to approximately 70 students, ages 13-19, interested in neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and neurology, with the goal of potentially becoming a medical doctor or scientist that studies the brain. The students took two exams: a multiple choice test on brain facts that they studied, then an exam based on labb demonstrations. There were three high school winners.
